K010 - Antique Milner’s Patent Fire-Resisting Safe Box – 19th Century Iron Chest

£195.00

An original Milner’s Patent Double-Chambered Fire-Resisting Safe Box, dating from the mid–late 19th century. The inside of the lid retains its detailed maker’s label, outlining Milner’s patented construction methods and fireproof guarantees.

This heavy iron box would originally have been used for storing important documents, jewellery, or cash in banks, offices, or wealthy households. Today, it makes a wonderful decorative storage chest or log box, while still carrying the character and history of its original use.
