Gothic style chair 1025
Gothic style chair 1025
This beautiful chair came from St Johns church in Colinton circa in the 1940’s.
Material: Solid oak, strong and durable.
Style: Gothic Revival / Ecclesiastical style (commonly seen in church or chapel furniture, but also used in Victorian/Edwardian homes).
Carving: The crest rail has detailed grape and vine carvings, a symbol often associated with abundance, communion, and prosperity. The gothic arch panel adds to the historic feel.
Seat: Upholstered with a plush red velvet cushion (removable). The rich colour contrasts beautifully with the warm oak wood.
Size: Substantial, high-backed armchair with presence — almost “throne-like” in appearance.
