This is an antique wooden pedestal desk, featuring a central knee-hole flanked by two banks of drawers. Each pedestal contains four drawers with brass handles, and there is a single central drawer above the knee-hole. The desk has a traditional, sturdy design with a leather or leather-effect writing surface bordered by decorative studding. The wood shows a warm patina, suggesting age and character. One of the top drawers are fitted with a secret locking mechanism, operated by pushing a hidden button on the top of the desk, adding an extra element of craftsmanship and intrigue.
