Do you do the installation, or can you organise it for me?
We do not do the installation or any organising here at Holyrood. Once you have bought what you want to be fitted, you have two options.
The first option is to use the recommended independent installers that we have worked alongside many times and have gained our trust. The advantage to this is once they have been and done a survey, if it turns out it won’t fit or the final cost including installation is going to be too expensive then you can take advantage of our extended refund policy. You are eligible for a full refund up to 14 days after you have been giving the final quote from the installers.
The installers will supply all the other needed items you may need such as a hearth, liner, cowls etc…
The other option would be to do an online search for a ‘Grate builder’ or ‘Fireplace installer’ along with your location. We are happy for your chosen installer to contact us as needed to discuss dimensions of your items etc… The returns policy this way is 7 days from purchase for a cash refund and then up to 28 days for a credit note.
If I use the recommended installers, how will the process work?
Once you have purchased something, you will be given their business card and you will contact them directly. Either via phone or email. They will ask what you have bought and if you are going to be having a decorative, gas fire or solid fuel fire. Together you will organise a suitable date for a sweep and/or survey to take place. They will sweep your chimney and ensure it is safe and in good condition and will also survey where the fireplace is going, taking all relevant sizes needed to ensure what you have chosen will fit. Decorative installation surveys in Edinburgh are approx £50 and a full chimney sweep and survey is approx £90. If you live out with Edinburgh then they will travel the length and breadth of Scotland no problem at a small extra charge.
They will discuss with you the items that they will supply such as your hearth options, liner (if needed) options and all the other ancillaries needed for a complete installation. They will then contact their suppliers, get a cost for all items needed and will be back in contact with you for the final quote. The items will get ordered up before finally arranging an installation date for you.
