Seljuk Helmet & Dagger Sculpture 0646

2,000.00

Unusual item, we’re not too sure about its origins. It came as part of a pair, the other piece (now sold) depicted the seal of John of Brienne, King of Jerusalem.

The style of the helmets and daggers and the history of John of Brienne suggest it’s something to do with Turkey and the Crusades, and we believe this piece represents the Seljuk Turks.

It’s certainly not as old as the 12th Century, but it has been hand made some time in the last century.

Hopefully more info coming soon!
