We’re looking for someone to join our small team here at Holyrood!

Have a read below, and if it seems like something you’re interested in send a cover letter and CV to eddy@holyroodsalvage.com

We’re more interested in your skills than your exam results, so if you have any pics of restoration projects you’ve completed then send them over too.

Workshop Organiser/Semi-skilled Restorer

To begin with the job will mainly consist of a workshop /showroom organizer and clearer, lifting heavy items, goffer and learning how the business operates, loading and unloading vans, helping others when needed, etc... As time goes on you will be taught the restoration techniques we use and hopefully become a key restorer in the business. How far you go will be solely based on your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You won’t be limited to the subject you have experience in as you can also be shown and taught the other areas too.

The 3 main materials we work in are;

Metal Work:

Extending and restoring cast inserts and mantels, odd fabrication jobs etc.

Restoring the marble, slate or stone mantels

Repairing mantels, doors, furniture

You must have some experience in either metal work, wood or stone. Also preferably some experience in spray painting. You don’t have to be time served in anything, as long as you can show you have some experience in one or more of these trades.

Above all you must have pride in your work and a keen eye for detail. We work to a high standard to restore these items back to as good or better than when they were first made and won’t accept anything less.
